The Buzz: Testimonials from Working Actors
I had a ball shooting my headshots with Christina and Stephanie! [...] Christina has the most talent, best professionalism, and most competitive prices for actors headshots. But those are just the facts. Shooting with Christina is fun. And easy. She’s communicative, genuinely interested in YOU not just as a compelling subject but as a person with character. These women are not only professional, they’re creatively inspiring and a true joy to be around! They made me feel so comfortable and free to be myself. I’m obviously a huge fan of Christina’s work and highly recommend shooting with her if you want the best version of yourself to come through in a picture.

I have to say [these are] the best photos anyone has ever taken of me! Christina, you are gifted and thank you so much for providing the right chops to capture what NO ONE (no pro photographer) has ever captured. I honestly have never felt so captured. I will, without a doubt, be seeing you again and I will tell all my friends. These are special to me forever.
Thank you,

PS – Stephanie, thank you for all the indirect light; it put just the right sheen. ; )
Christina is someone I trust fully, who has the rare, innate ability to shoot effortlessly and capture a person’s natural essence.
She is one of the few photographers I have worked with who makes me feel comfortable and completely at ease. The headshots she took truly represent me and have been instrumental to my career.

I had been a working theatre actress in NYC before making the move to Los Angeles. I was in total culture shock when I arrived; everything was different including the type of photo that got one “in the room”. My agents insisted on new headshots but I was overwhelmed with the options to choose from. I know there are some big-name photographers that people say you “must” shoot with, but in a business where you WANT to stand out, why would you want a picture that looked like everyone else? Also, paying that much for headshots just because “everyone does it” went against everything in my being.
My commercial agent had recommended Christina along with some other photographers and I fell in love with the images I saw, but I was still nervous. After spending thousands of dollars throughout my life on headshots—only to be disappointed and disheartened every time—I was not about to spend another penny without talking to the person and seeing if we could work well together. To my bewilderment, many photographers I called weren’t willing to discuss their process with me. I could not understand why they assumed I’d just shoot with them based solely on their reputation without ever having talked to them to find out if we would share a common language.
On the other hand, when I called Christina, she not only took time to talk to me, but she actually asked if I wanted to stop by and see the studio and meet her! That in and of itself had me sold. Then I looked at how truly interesting, striking, and beautifully original her work was, and I knew I was going to shoot with her.
When I arrived for my session, I found that Christina and Stephanie (the photo assistant/whiz kid extraordinaire) are not only talented but super fun and kind. I honestly just wanted to hang out with them. They put me at such ease! When I’m photographed for headshots, I tend to put up a lot of walls because I have been burned in the past, and I am not “Hollywood beautiful.” I am a character actress (and I love that) but I needed a photographer who gets that and works WITH it rather than trying to make me conform to some Hollywood ideal. Christina not only got that but I felt like she really appreciated that, and therefore appreciated ME.
I was so pleased and will NEVER shoot with anyone else. In fact the agents who had recommended Christina said (upon seeing my new headshots) that she will be their #1 recommendation from now on. The patience both Christina and Stephanie have had with me since taking photos is really mind-blowing too, through the whole retouching and printing process.
To say that Christina Gandolfo is an excellent headshot photographer (and an awesome person) is an understatement; she was a huge joyful gift that I could not have even thought to hope for! I don’t have enough positive things to say other than I am eternally grateful to Christina for taking my dream as seriously as I do.

Everyone loves my new headshots.
I asked my husband, actor Steve Mendillo, why he likes this particular set of photos so much and he said it’s because they are so natural and alive.
He said, “They are just you. So people see the essence of you.”

I was bored with standard headshots. I had big colorful ideas and I was very worried about finding someone who could dive into something weird with me. I chose to shoot with Christina because of her unique background in the commercial/editorial style of colorful, modern images. I needed something fresh; I needed something that would stand out as casting directors were scanning through lists of hundreds of online thumbnail images.
[...] I felt comfortable on set with her (and her assistant Stephanie) the entire time. She brought out the very best in me. Both my LA agents and my NYC agents loved the shots.
Christina is an incredibly inventive photographer and I never once felt that she has anything other than my best interests at heart. She is a collaborator and she will make you feel like a million bucks. I didn’t expect to be blown away, but I was. She gave me exactly what I wanted — who could ask for anything more?
I would wholeheartedly recommend Christina to anyone who is looking for a unique, creative photographer who will make them stand out.

My first headshots in LA were done with Christina and I’ve done every other shoot with her since. I always have so many great photos to choose from. In fact, it’s difficult to make the final decision because I end up absolutely loving at least 15. The lady is that good at what she does!
Once I had a casting director tell me that my headshot was the best she’d ever seen. Seriously.
I love my headshots and recommend all my friends to her whenever they need new photos. She really understands my face and seemed to just get it from the first time we worked together. Plus she makes me feel comfortable and is always so sweet and down-to-earth. Which is probably why the photos are so good.
Thanks,
